WHO IS BODY LANGUAGE SHOP?
Body Language Shop is the creative studio of me, Jackie Zdrojeski (she/her). I am based in Brooklyn, NY. I share a home studio with my partner Eliza.
I strive to create an ever-evolving body of home accessories and artwork stemming from the basic desire to make the joyful objects in my head come to life.
My current body of work includes silicone macrame plant hangers, shapely wiggly mirrors and hand-painted plant stands. At the moment, much of my work is about the magical transformation of computer-generated vector drawings into physical reality through the use of laser and water-jet cutting.
Some of the things that inspire me right now are my houseplants, geometry, eBay holes, faux finishing, vintage graphics, kids’ furniture and textiles, queerness in general, my book collection, industrial materials, hardware catalogs and the marker set I just bought.
BLS is a queer-owned company that does not work with racist or homophobic individuals or institutions. We donate time and raise money for QTPOC, social justice and pro-immigrant organizations and encourage other white designers to do the same thing.
